GAIS

Omnisys have been awarded an ESA contract to develop a higly representative 183 GHz ground-based demonstrator for the future GEO-sounder instrument. This is the second step after the first 50 GHz concept demonstrator finalised in 2010. The objective is also to advance the design of the spaceborne version of the instrument.

The ultimate objective of the demonstrator is to prepare for an in-orbit demonstration compliant with the full specifications for a flight instrument that will enable accurate observations at the required spatial resolution with microwave and (sub)millimetre wave sensors from GEO.
