History

Omnisys Instruments was founded in 1992 by Dr Anders Emrich and Stefan Andersson. The first major assignment was for Swedish Space Corporation in the ODIN satellite project. When ODIN was launched in 2001, Omnisys had delivered several subsystems for the radiometer payload such as the spectrometer and phase lock system. In 1993 Omnisys was awarded with the first ESA development contract and has since then been engaged in continuous European development programs. In 1998-2001 Omnisys contributed to the Swedish led SMART-1 satellite project by delivering the power conditioning and distribution unit, PCDU.

By self financed growth Omnisys today employs 20 highly qualified employees and is established as leading Swedish space SME. Recent highlights in the company's development are e.g. the contract for 60 water vapour radiometers for the ALMA telescope in Chile, the ESA financed Geo Atmospheric Sounder demonstrator project and the cross correlator contract for British security company Qinetiq.
